The work of Gabrielle Jones has been described by Charles Blackman, Artist, as “…full of shining light, radiant… [she] lets the inner things – her soul – come into her paintings [and] evokes feelings from the viewer”.
Gabrielle Jones is a graduate in Fine art from Australia’s prestigious National Art School, as well as from the University of Sydney for Education. She has held 14 solo shows in three states of Australia, and at the Goulburn Regional Gallery and was appointed “Artist in Residence” at Arthur Boyd’s property at Bundanon; in Le Meridien Tahiti; Valparaiso in Mojacar, Spain; at Artscape in Toronto, Canada; and at Tweed Regional Gallery.
Jones also works occasionally as a curator, working on two exhibitions at Coorah Contemporary Gallery, Blue Mountains Grammar School. Her teaching experience includes an appointment as drawing instructor 2012 Sydney Biennale events, and six years in her own art school (ArtClassSydney.com.au) in Sydney’s Balmain. She has instructed over 100 students in her time, covering everything from the fundamentals of art to advanced painting techniques for students to take their art to the next level.
As a professional, exhibiting artist, Gabrielle has won or been highly commended in a number of prizes including the William Fletcher Trust Grant for talented students; included as a finalist in a number of art prizes, including the Fleurieu Biennale; Portia Geach portrait; Mosman;  Norville landscape; Muswellbrook; Calleen; St George; Duke Gold Coast; Borough of Queenscliff 150th Anniversary; Korea Australia Art Foundation; Fishers Ghost Art Awards (in both drawing and painting); and the Rick Amor drawing prize. She is an invited artist for the Prestigious Kedumba drawing award in 2016.

She has been selected in curated shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, New York and Korea; and has had work acquired by Muswellbrook Regional Gallery and included in public and private collections in Australia, New Zealand, Spain, the Netherlands, New York, Canada and London.
